How common is hearing loss?

751 views  March 21, 2020

Hearing loss is not an isolated condition, and is, in fact, quite prevalent. In the U.S. alone, there are at least 40 million Americans with hearing loss, ranking it as the third most prevalent chronic health condition in the U.S., the first two being arthritis and cardiovascular disease.

The two most common causes for hearing loss are the natural aging process (senescence) and continuous exposure to loud sounds.
